Welcome to Pod 6 2017
Welcome to our Pod 6 Blog for 2017. We hope that you have all made the most of the fantastic weather and that you are refreshed and ready for us to share our learning from our fabulous new Year 2/3 collaborative classroom. We are looking forward to an exciting and action-packed year with lots of excellent learning happening.

The children are all very enthusiastic and we are busy establishing routines and expectations that allow high quality learning to take place. The children will be encouraged to develop their self-organisation skills and to become more independent.
Swimming
A reminder that children need to bring togs every day.
We have started our "Swim For Life" programme.
Hurupaki School is lucky to have the opportunity to participate in the programme.

Important Reminders
* Camp Notices to be returned by this Monday (13 February)
* For the next 2 weeks the Life Education Caravan will be at Hurupaki School. Our theme for the sessions inside the caravan will focus on social skills and relationships with others.
* Reading Folders and Library Bags some of these haven't been returned to school from last year. Please have a check at home and return to school on Monday. If you are unable to locate them, new ones will need to be purchased, as they were not included on the stationery list.

Pod 6 are already working on the first of the 5 Key Competencies - "Managing Self".

The children have been busy creating a "full body image" of themselves.
They have been working through a process to produce a high quality art work that they can be proud of. Check them out when you come to parent interviews.
